JOB TITLE: Team Leader ? Childcare Services

LOCATION: Limerick

REPORTS TO: Mid - West Service Manager

PURPOSE: To lead and manage childcare team to ensure the delivery of a
quality service to clients and their children that meets
organisational standards and targets.

Coolmine is a leading drug and alcohol treatment centre providing
community, day and residential services to men and women with
problematic substance use and their families in Ireland. Established
since **Apply on the website**. Coolmine Therapeutic Community
believes that everyone should have the opportunity to overcome
addiction and lead a fulfilled and productive life.

Coolmine, in conjunction with the HSE and Limerick City Council, will
establish a Women, Mother and Child Residential Treatment Service in
the mid-west. In a phased approach, Coolmine will deliver a Community
and Day Service in Limerick before implementing the residential
service.

We now have a vacancy for the Team Leader ? Childcare Services to
lead and manage our Childcare team and to ensure delivery of quality
services to clients and their children, with the aim of meeting
organisational standards and objectives. The successful candidate will
report to the Mid-West Service Manager

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

* Commitment to the purpose of the service and to work within the
values, policies and procedures of the organisation and in the context
of current legislation and regulations.
* Hold regular supervision with childcare team.
* Actively participate in team and staff meetings and service
reviews/ evaluations and to contribute to the development of policy
and practice with your area of work and within the organisation as a
whole.
* Have a flexible approach to the work in response to organisational
change, development and review of best practice.
* Identify training needs with your line manager and participate in
training opportunities appropriate to the role.
* To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the
workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager
or other appropriate person.
* To ensure service is inspection ready at all times.
To work with individual children in order to meet their needs and to
advocate on their behalf.
* To lead ECCE Scheme provision for pre-schoolers (if required)
* To ensure high standards of care at the service
* To develop curricula in line with Aistear and Siolta guideline
* Adhere to Child Protection Policy of the service and report any
concerns
* Prepare long term, medium term and short term plans for Childcare
Services
* Maintain all records as required by regulatory bodies.
* Represent the service during Inspections
* Network with appropriate statutory and voluntary agencies
* To develop ongoing positive relationships with parents
* To support co-ordination of recruitment, induction, appraisal and
training requirements for staff
* Maintain strict confidentiality about children or their families.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION

* Minimum FETAC Level 6 in Childcare.

EXPERIENCE

* Minimum 5 years work experience in a childcare setting.
* Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
* Extensive knowledge of Aistear, Siolta and the Pre-school
regulations required.
